Aluminium

A flat tray dual cab ute canopy mainly comes made of aluminium. Usually, these dual cab canopies come with fold-down removable sides. A flat tray is your best solution when you want a lightweight solution that makes it easy to load stuff onto it. You also don’t need to use a tub liner with a flat tray canopy. Keep in mind though that flat tray canopies provide no protection or containment, so if you want to carry something valuable you’re better off with something else.
Factory Tub

If you want a canopy that you will remove and install quite often then avoid getting a chassis mount canopy.
Service Body
The most common canopy you see on government vehicles is known as a service body canopy. This type of canopy is typically made of steel and is quite a big one too. Service body canopies often come with multiple large gull-wing doors.
With these canopies you can store a lot of gear and equipment, making them the perfect solution for camping or your tradie life. Service body canopies are quite strong and can keep your items safe especially if you equip one with an alarm and proper weather seals.
Conclusion
Having no canopy is an option for many ute owners but why would you want to miss out on your vehicle’s core function – versatility? Even if you go with the most straightforward tray canopy you’re still better off than not getting any at all. You never know when you’ll need extra space.
